Today, only “the Southern Ute Tribe and the Mountain Ute Tribe” are Federally recognized in the State of Colorado.
Across the Centennial State, several towns, cities, and counties are named after the tribes and chiefs that once inhabited Colorado including the City of Pueblo, Arapahoe County, and Town of Ouray.
